To bring one of the following seminars to your city or church contact Wendy Gritter through the New Direction office.
Conversations @ the Intersection of Faith and Sexuality: Navigating diverse perspectives and fostering hospitable space
This hour and a half seminar presents an introduction to the reality of the tensions within the Christian community as we wrestle with how to extend a loving welcome to those outside the heterosexual mainstream.
Limiting Scripts & Life-Giving Stories: Walking with youth through questions of sexual identity
This three hour seminar is designed to open the conversation with those who lead, teach and mentor our youth. We will explore the internal scripts that youth who are questioning their own sexual identity may be burdened by. We will also consider hopeful narratives that can help encourage sexual minority youth to look forward to a bright future.
Pastor's Conversation: Equipping church leaders for discerning pastoral care and generous leadership
This full day interactive seminar considers the many facets of the conversation that pastors need to consider in extending gracious pastoral care to those outside the heterosexual mainstream.
Sexual Identity & the Local Church: Equipping for effective engagement
This full day seminar will provide Christians a safe forum to analyze and strategize for practical growth in making the church a safe place for those grappling with matters of sexual identity.
Leveraging the peer learning environment through case studies, role playing and group discussion, this learning opportunity will explore the complex pastoral scenarios facing our pastors and congregations today.
